Educational & Health Services and Projects
From Quranic centres and Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar School to a proposed university and Muslim-based primary healthcare centres.
Educational Projects and Activities
Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has over the years invested directly and indirectly in promoting Islamic education and regular education in Nigeria amongst the youths, both for the benefit of its members and non-members.
In virtually all its Masjids and Islamic Centres, Nawair-Ud-Deen promotes and encourages the setting up of Quranic and Arabic Studies for the young ones (male and female). Ustaz are retained and adequately paid to ensure those programmes are run successfully in virtually all its branches in Nigeria and other places.
This effort has helped over the past 50 years to create a legacy of building strong Muslim youths who over the years have transformed and developed to manage and retain the continued management of the Masjid, both at the Mission Board level and the Administrative level.
The various Quranic and Arabic Studies platforms and Schools constantly need help and support. Members and non-members are encouraged to donate generously towards this effort to increase the Iman and knowledge of the Islamic Ummah.
The organization also invested in establishing facilities for the regular educational system. With the establishment of Nawair-Ud-Deen Primary School in Abeokuta in the early 1950s, and the upgrade to a model High School in Ijeun Area in Abeokuta, the Nawair-Ud-Deen Society was positioned to match the unprecedented investment by the rival Christian Missionaries in the Educational system in Nigeria shortly before Nigeria's Independence and immediately after Independence.
The establishment of these two schools quickly led to the setting up of Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta. The School offers full secondary education to the West African Examination Certificate. The school has grown from just less than 50 students at its inception in 1966 to about 5,000 students today.
Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria's involvement in the educational system, including providing infrastructure, is still far from the target due to palpable financial resources to pursue this objective. The organization hopes to continue to generate resources, assistance and funding for future investment in the educational sector throughout the footprint branches of the organization.
There are efforts to develop a conceptual plan for the establishment of a tertiary University institution by Nawair-Ud-Deen Society in the nearest future that will focus on technologies, science, arts and engineering. The organization will present this to the general public once the plan has been completed.
Health Sector Services
As an Islamic organization, it is the desire of Nawair-Ud-Deen Society to venture into providing its community with a comprehensive health care system in terms of wellness and investment in infrastructure.
This need is paramount in view of the lack of designated Islamic-oriented medical facilities to discharge Sharia-compliant medical treatment to the Muslim Jummah, especially dealing with privacy issues with girls and women.
The organization is developing a plan of action to commence with primary health care services that will strictly comply with medical privacy issues as recommended in Islam and Sharia for the Muslim Community. The regular health system and government-owned health care facilities in Nigeria do not have these requirements, and it has instigated an urgent need for the organization to venture into the setting up of Muslim-Based Primary Healthcare and Medical Centres to start.
The organization is working on a Master Plan of Action for execution of the projects. Both the Educational and Health Care sector projects being developed will require substantial financial resources to accomplish. The organization will rely on well-meaning financial support from everyone, individuals and organizations.
Nawair-Ud-Deen Society is therefore calling on members, non-members and organizations to contribute towards these development projects in both the education and health sectors. The details of how to get involved are provided on this site, and donors can approach the organization to obtain additional information on how to make donations or contribute towards these projects.
